Prof. Dr.
Armin Fricke

Armin has always been an entrepreneur. It all started with a biorhythm program back in 1982, when he was a high school student. Commodore PET 3001, Commodore C64, Apple IIe and the IBM PC ran the BASIC program. 5.25″ floppy disks reached the users via snail mail.

Since 1986, he co-founded 10+ IT companies. After all, he produced one deep crater and several products without enough traction.

In 2020, Capital-Gain Consultants launched Simulate 365, a simulation framework for the chemical, pharmaceutical, and life science industries.

As a business angel, Armin holds several direct investments and  invests via crowdfunding platforms.

Armin graduated with a Wirtschaftsingenieur diploma in economics and engineering from Karlsruhe University (TH)(1992). He received a Doctor in Economics from Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (Austria)(1997).

ARMIN'S EXPERIENCE

Armin learned consulting at Arthur D. Little and Price Waterhouse Corporate Finance in Berlin. In particular, they were active in Telecommunications, IT, Media, Entertainment and Communications. Both consultancies have excellent methodological approaches to consulting.

Because of the merger of Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand, he left PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Armin founded CGC Capital-Gain Consultants GmbH in 1998 in Berlin.

Academia

From 2003 till 2009, Armin was a Professor for E-commerce and Databases at TH Wildau University of Applied Sciences in Wildau (Brandenburg).

During this time in 2008, Armin founded Kombinat Softwareentwicklung, an incubator for TH Wildau student IT startups.

Management

Armin and his team launched Simulate 365 (2020), DWSIM Pro (2021) and Flowsheet Copilot, a GenAI for simulation flowsheets (2023).

From 2012 till 2023, Armin was the Managing Director of Chemstations Europe GmbH, Berlin, which he acquired in an MBO in 2018. Armin grew CHEMCAD sales in Europe and the Middle East, and developed applications based on CHEMCAD, one of the leading process simulators.

Capital-Gain Consultants has developed CC-API, the interface to CHEMCAD in 2014 and brought CHEMCAD to the cloud in 2018. CHEMCAD® is a registered trademark of Chemstations, Inc.
